Melbourne High Boys baseball team competes in state playoffs.
The Melbourne High boys baseball team is in the state championship playoffs. They had a 22 and 5 record in the regular season. In the playoffs they have won against East Ridge (14-14) of Clermont 4-3 and West Orange (27-1) of Winter Garden 4-3. They play Alonso (24-3) from Tampa in the regional finals on May 15th in a best of 3 game series. If they win they will then face either Buchholz (15-11) of Gainesville or Lake Brantley (25-3) on May 22nd in the state semi-finals. Good luck Melbourne!!!
UPDATE - Melbourne lost to Alonso in a best of three series 8-1 and 6-1 ending their quest for a state championship.
